Himalayan Escape A 331 km climb from the Kurukshetra plains to the Narkanda ridge — on the XPulse 210.

Skip the heat-soaked highways. This line trades speed for shade — Shivalik foothills, deodar forest lanes, and a ridge-top finish at 2,700 metres.

The Climb

Each stop sits higher than the last. The rail tracks your altitude — warm at the plains, cool at the ridge.

STAGE 01

The Foothill Prelude

Kurukshetra → Morni

Leave the plains behind and slip into the Shivaliks via Panchkula — it shakes off the highway traffic almost at once. Lush green ridges, sharp engaging corners.

📍 Morni · Haryana 134205
  • XPulse line: the Tikkar Taal trail offers gentle gravel — a clean shake-down for your gear before the high peaks.

STAGE 02

Into the Pines

Morni → Barog

Rejoin the hill highway briefly at Kumarhatti to reach Barog — your designated stillness spot. Thirty minutes of pine-scented air for a mental reset.

🛠 PREMIA SOLAN · Runway Moto Dreamz ★ 4.8
  • Last easy service before the interior. Opens 10 AM, Barog.

STAGE 03

The Deodar Trails

Chail bypass → Kufri

Turn for Chail instead of fighting Shimla's traffic. The most refreshing leg of the whole ride — dense deodar, single-lane roads, a real drop in temperature.

  • Soft-road: the Chail–Kufri lane is narrow and scenic, with plenty of forgiving shoulders to explore.

STAGE 04 · SUMMIT

The High Ridge Finale

Kumarsain → Narkanda → Hatu Peak

The climb from Kumarsain opens into apple orchards and ridge-top air. Ride the steep 6 km from Narkanda to Hatu Peak for a 360° sweep of the Greater Himalayas.

⛰ Hatu Peak · 3400m ★ 4.8
  • XPulse line: past the paved climb, the logging and firebreak tracks stay firm on the ridge — the best off-road of the trip.

Before you ride

Rider's Manual — XPulse 210

Three things the mountain will ask of you.

Tyres

Drop pressure a touch once you hit the Chail forest roads — more rubber on the gravel, better grip.

Fuel

Panchkula and Solan are your last guaranteed pumps before the interior mountain segments. Top up.

June layers

Plains may burn, but the ridge won't. Highs near 25°C; Narkanda can fall to a chilly 12°C after dark.
